Quote: "This championship band has Molly Pauken playing outstanding world-class bass guitar and Kay Harris singing on the level of Celine Dion."

By Brad Wilson

She Don't Worry is the title of the second album from the incredibly talented musical team of Molly Pauken and Kay Harris. These two professionals lead the national rock band, Sirens, based in Columbus, Ohio.

Like any winning team, star players make the difference. This championship band has Molly Pauken playing outstanding world-class bass guitar and Kay Harris singing on the level of Celine Dion. This makes the band Sirens and their red hot new album a major league act and a force to be reckoned with.

Featuring eleven fresh songs with top notch production, this record is a good value both from the smart all inclusive packaging, to the good as it gets musical performance on each track. Joining these leading ladies are Jeff Peters on drums, Craig Markley on everything and anything with keys and studio ace Pete Cary on guitar.

The CD opens with the record's title track "She Don't Worry," a rhythm and soul number that is fun, danceable and a tip of the hat to the great Motown songs from Gladys Knight and Wilson Pickett. Performers sometimes describe a song like this as a rave up or get' em out of their seats and out on to the dance floor tune.

"I'll Be A Kite" follows next, and you are drawn into the outstanding voice of Kay Harris and her ability to sing. The producers were smart to keep her voice up in the mix, because you feel she could be played on the radio alongside the best in the recording business. This track has a chorus that swoops in and lifts off, and takes you with the song for a reggae-infused, four-plus minute ride. And on every track, Molly Pauken proves she is one of the top bass players in the world today.

Throughout the length of the album, production is crisp with vocal harmonies, acoustic guitars and a variety of instruments used to bring each song to full potential. All of these additional instruments are always mixed to the point of orchestration, never overloading the track or getting in front of this hot live band.

Other songs included are "Left It Up To You," something the singer Seal might cover, and "SOS," a lyrically supportive tune to someone close, and presented with a Nancy Wilson of Heart feel. One of the best songs is "Unveiled," with a great melody and a terrific uplifting, stand-up-and-be-counted message.

The record ends with "Mother Of Loves." Opening the track is some wonderful acoustic guitar playing, and it features songwriting on the level of Heart or Sting. Closing the collection is "Obi's Tears," a strong percussion-rhythm-instrument piece complete with chants, which feels and sounds like a trip to the Carribean islands.

Listening to this album gives you a good feeling, always enjoyable, fun, uplifting and encouraging. The most important factor besides the quality of work on She Don't Worry is that Molly Pauken and Kay Harris write and produce the kind of music that a lot of folks can enjoy. These talented recording artists are ready for TV, radio, and arenas with the complete entertainment package. Sirens and She Don't Worry is a first place winner.
